The study of the thoracic outlet region allowed us to highlight the relationship between the osseous, muscular, fascial and articular container and the vascular and nervous content to the upper limb. The purpose of our study was to evaluate, from a simple clinical protocol, the effect of a systematic osteopathic treatment focused on the thoracic outlet region, in a population with intermittent tingling in the upper limb.
Of a population of 18 patients, 16 had obtained a marked improvement in their symptoms after two months.
It appears that an understanding of the anatomic relationship of this crossing allowed the osteopath to consider care, complementary to the medical profession, of nervous and vascular syndromes of the upper limb.
