Scoliosis is in 75% of cases defined as "idiopathic" by the medical world.
We have tried to show the influence of SSB (sphenobasilar synchondrosis) dysfunctions on this kind of scoliosis.
After having described the scoliosis and its treatment, we have studied the anatomy and the physiology of the SSB, the anatomy of the rachis and of the different links between the basis of the cranium and the rachis.
The clinical study consists in verifying if there is a modification of the scoliosis clinical exam after the twisting and the side bending rotation of the SSB treatment. The outcome was that several groups of patients formed. A first group has evolved well, according to a corrective descending chain. A second group has deteriorated and a third one has not evolved.
This subject would have needed more time or a more general osteopathic treatment, possibly completed by other disciplines.
